Got a New game this weekend

Sorry, I kind of fell out of posting lately. I got a new game and have been dedicating all of my time towards it. The game is Etrian Odyssey III. It brings me back to the old CRPG games of the old days. I am having a lot of fun and getting rather frustrated at times playing this. The game is a dungeon crawler in grid fashion with a twist. The twist is that you have to draw the maps yourself. Yes the game does supply you with nifty tools to do it but the underling concept is still their. You have to make the maps or get lost forever. Here is a professional run down of the game:

Off tranquil ocean shores, far below the surface of the sea, the city of Armoroad bears a secret. Rumor suggests that this coastal metropolis is less than it once was; much of it, they whisper, was lost to the unforgiving waters. Will you assemble and train a team of explorers to uncover once and for all what really lies beneath, or will you succumb to the innumerable dangers hidden in the abyssal depths?

Etrian Odyssey III transports gamers to a sparkling oceanic paradise filled with atmospheric dungeons to chart and survey, vast watery expanses to sail across, and rumors of a sunken city to investigate.

Aspiring explorers are responsible for charting their travels utilizing the intuitive touchscreen map editor, meaning that careless cartography could easily spell doom for a fatigued party trying to escape danger. Powerful challenges demand cunning and strategy: players will assemble and fully customize their party of adventurers from a variety of highly specialized classes and sub-classes. For the patient and prepared, fame and fortune await.

I rate this game a perfect 10/10.
The graphics are good. The battle style is very easy flowing and requires a ton of strategy. The music is amazing, and the story though I am not finished or even close seems to be to my liking so far.

nothing but free time

Sorry about forgetting to post lately. I have had a rather action packed week. Though that is all behind me and the weekend is here. I am going to a wedding tomorrow so I will be headed home later this afternoon to fix my sisters computer / wedding things. I finally get to see my dogs and the rest of the family again. That is going to be fun.

I have been playing in the late game of recetear a little now and again. It isn't a whole lot of fun when either everything will kill you or everything will just walk up to you and die. I am not sure how to get any better at this. I might possible try to start a survival mode or a new game but I think the former more then the latter.

Chances are after all the wedding stuff is done I will be starting a new game. I am mulling over two right now. One of them is King's Bounty: Crossworlds and the other is Deadrising 2. Depending on which system I feel like playing. If you don't know what either is here is a brief rundown of each.

Deadrising 2:

Just when you think you're safe from having your brains eaten, another zombie apocalypse always seems to spring up. Frank West saved America from being overrun by zombies in the original Dead Rising, but the cause of the zombification was never completely contained, leaving the door open for future zombie outbreaks. Dead Rising 2 picks up the story several years later, and this time Fortune City, the entertainment capital of America, is the site of the next zombie convention. Unfortunately, what happens in Fortune City will not stay in Fortune City if motocross champion Chuck Greene is unable to stem the zombie tide.

Dead Rising 2 shifts the action from the everyday world of mid-West America to the glitz and glamour of Fortune City, America’s latest and greatest entertainment playground. People flock to Fortune City from around the globe to escape from reality and the chance to win big.

The game sees the introduction of former national Motocross champion, Chuck Greene, as the main protagonist. Before he hit the big time with a team and sponsorship behind him Chuck was forced to repair his own bikes, leaving him incredibly resourceful; a real handyman. A single father, Chuck dotes on his daughter Katey who, since the loss of her mother, he will do anything for.

With hundreds of zombies on screen at any one time, the original Dead Rising forced gamers to turn the everyday objects they found in the Mall into improvised weapons capable of fending off attacks.

Dead Rising 2 promises to increase the carnage with even more zombies intent on feasting on human flesh and countless new objects with which Chuck can make the undead dead. Dead Rising 2 is being developed by Canadian developer Blue Castle Games in close collaboration with Capcom. A number of members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle Games throughout the development process, including Capcom’s global head of research and development, Keiji Inafune, who as the game’s Producer, will play an active role in the project.

King's Bounty: Crossworlds

King's Bounty: Armored Princess is a sequel to the critically acclaimed King’s Bounty: The Legend. Players will take on the role of Princess Amelie who travels around the world of Teana and searches for the renowned knight, and her mentor, Bill Gilbert. This new world of King’s Bounty: Armored Princess is full of mysteries and dangers. The new character, the Princess, will encounter horrible creatures, huge monstrous bosses and a new race, the bloodthirsty Lizards. As in the multi-award winning game on which this sequel is based, the player has many options to resist these new enemies. Various new skills and characteristics of Amelie as well as her chance to fly will help her overcome the hordes attacking the kingdom.

The Princess is accompanied by a Pet Dragon, at the very beginning small and amusing, but its abilities develop steadily until it becomes an incredible ally. He will do his best to protect the Princess during the battles, starting with easy blows and treasure hunting and finishing with battle rage and volcano summoning.

* New fascinating story-line and a whole new continent to explore
* A new female character to play – Princess Amelie
* Medals giving bonuses can be received for special achievements
* Pet Dragon which becomes more powerful as the player does
* New Lizard race
* Possibility to turn your horse into a Pegasus which can fly
* Fast travel between opened continents
* Hire companions
* Resurrection of the classic system of contracts and headhunting
* Improved role playing system including more abilities and the chance to achieve level 50 and higher
* Brand new spells and new Adventure Magic spell for game map
* New unique bosses: Driller, Gremlion, Archdemon Baal and many others
* New engine supporting the latest graphic effects
* Beautiful, hand drawn environments

If you have a suggestion for any other game I should play let me know in the comments.

Business law and Insurance studies session tonight

Well, went to a party last night and thanks to my law class we weren't busted. Learning the laws and ways to get around them is a very good idea for college students. With out it I would probably out on bail right now for hosting a little shindig. Now I get to re cooperate and go to my Business law study session here in a few hours. This is going to be fun. I get to learn about all types of insurance scams such as auto insurance and homeowner insurance. Then a lot about the constitution and the court systems. It shouldn't be to bad though. I don't mind being preached to on school subject on end if know it will end up helping me in the end. Hope everyone else's night is going to be more exciting then mine.

Finally the weekend / Attempted a new game

This week felt like it took forever. Every morning I woke up cursed the world and droned through the day with a pounding headache and a pissed off attitude. Even though today was friday it still wasn't any better then the rest of the week. I had two test and some event coordinating to do. This took a few hours to take care of. I feel I did well on both tests and the important event information was received but I still am not happy... I just woke up from a few hours of nap and it feels like I have an elephant sitting on my chest. My heart feels stressed and I can't seem to get rid of this new found back pain :(. So the rest of the weekend I will be attempting to get back to the status of a human by resting and playing videogames.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The depressing half of this post over I feel I should talk a little about this new game I got and tried.

The games name is Record of Agarest War. It is a strategy rpg and dating sim for the xbox 360. A little background info on this game: It was originally made in Korea and translated over to English. It has a 2d battle style much like those of the early console with graphics being on bar with them. With that being said I didn't really know what to expect when I put this game in.

When I first started playing I noticed right away that it was alot different from most English or Japanese based games. The intro was unusually long with it being almost like a starwars feel ( You know blankish screen with just words). I found myself getting bored and missing lines this was so long. Then when it finally got finished I had a few of the standard options. I chose new game and was on my way. You first watch a scene of a battle (with graphics from the actual game) that looks reletively awesome ends with a character getting killed ( I believe the one that was killed is actually the character you play). After another long boring text scene you actuall get to start battleing. The first thing I noticed here was that it is rather tough to control all the people because the playfield is set up as an up, down, left and right but then the game takes it and turns it to it's side so it is now like a diamond. Now where it would have been easy the game makes it rather hard because with a d-pad you never know whch direction to push to get where you want.

After getting over the tough control sceme the game gives some interesting news. It says that when battleing their are two phases: move, and attack. All characters from both sides will move at the same time. Then they will attack in the order of their agility. This seemed good at first untill I realized that the AI actually waits and sees where you move then they counter and move with you. So it looks like they are moving at the same time but they will counter perfectly almost every time. Then the attack phase is a little confusing. Each character has a set of AP ( Attack points) these are used for moving in the beginning and attacking afterwards. The attacks each character has are limited and relatively ineffective for the most part. If you get lucky and compine two attacks that go well together you will get an "art" arts make a different move that does alot of damage. If you don't find any arts then good luck to you sir.

It took me quite some time to finish the first battle. After which there was some rather interesting scenes with the characters. Aparently the main characters leonhart defends an elf girl that the army is trying to kill. This sparks some animosity with his captain and they start to fight. This fight takes all of half a turn. It was a fight they wanted you to lose.

The stale conversations and slow battles pushed me off my xbox rather fast for a night of gaming. I just couldn't play it anymore. I can't quite say if I recommend it yet or not so keep reading folks. ;)

Comment and request something if you want a specific one and I can fix you up next time. See you all when I am back. Thanks for following me.

Econ test

Well, unfortunately I have an Econ test today. I stayed up late and didn't get much sleep. Neglected to study and pretty much did every possible thing that could hurt my grade.I still think I should do alright thanks to my girlfriend. With her amazing notes and ability to explain all this junk to me in a manner that I can actually understand....sorta. I pretty much owe her my entire grade for a few classes so far and probably more to come. Shiot...sorry I am such a lazy bum. Thought I shall be studying for an hour or so before class wish me luck crew.

New Game

I just got Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale on steam.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/70400/

It took me all of ~20 hours to beat it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to beat it on loop 1... I made it untill the 3rd payment and I lost. I was short about 70k pix. The second loop was much more successfull for me getting till merchant level 15 and being able to pay off the loan no problem. I think the pix I had left over was 279,000.

Since then I have played in endless to unlock all of the dungeons and have also done a complete run through of new game+. Which gave me Elan's true card. I don't quite know if II am going to use him for anything yet because he seems rather weak compared to my level 90 Louie.

I recommend this game to all who enjoy dungeon crawlers. The story is rather simple but it works pretty well, with a few twists and turns.
